High School Musical Games For Tween Parties
If you have some serious High School Musical fanatics singing and dancing around your house, there are plenty of ways to keep the fun going without having to watch the movie over again! Next time your tween is having a party, why not make the movie the theme? There are plenty of High School Musical games that will keep them entertained for hours!
You can create your own High School Musical games based on the movie. All you need to do is make up a few games that incorporate singing or dancing, using music from the movies!
Here are a few ideas:
Name That Tune
There are a few ways you can play this game. The simplest way is to load up your CD player or iPod with songs from the High School Musical soundtracks, and divide the kids into two or three teams. Play a short clip, and have the teams guess which song it is. Or, make it harder by leaving the soundtrack out of it, and having the kids sing a line or two from the song, and everyone else has to guess which song it is and what scene it is from.
Dance Contest
Again, split the kids into small teams. Write High School Musical song titles on slips of paper, and have each team draw one from a hat. They then have ten or fifteen minutes to go off and create a dance number for that song. Another option is to make this a cheerleading contest, and have each team come up with a basketball cheer for the East High Wildcats.
High School Musical Trivia
You can make up your own trivia questions from the movies, but unless you’re an expert (and you probably are by now) you can use the High School Musical party game, which comes with trivia cards, or the High School Musical DVD game.
Audition
Have one parent play Ms. Darbus, and stage auditions! Use either a soundtrack and have the kids sing along, or a High School Musical karaoke CD for backup. Each kid chooses a song, and has to perform it in an ‘audition’. If your group is a little less inclined to sing alone in front of each other, pick up a sing-along High School Musical console game like Sing It! so they can groove and sing along in a more casual setting…without all that audition pressure.
Improv
This is a fun game. Write down a one or two line description of scenes from the movie. Fold them and place them in a hat. Have the kids pair up, and each pair has to draw a scene from the hat. Then, they have to act that scene out! Or, write down a line of dialogue, and let the kids use that as the basis for acting out a scene from memory. They can do it like it happened in the movie, or make up their own storyline…or a bit of both. This gets everyone laughing hysterically, as they try to talk and act like the characters and add their own details to the plot.
High School Musical games are fun and simple, and will keep the party hopping for hours!
